A Regional Platform for Coastal Collaboration

Connecting Coastal Communities for Resilient Futures

CoastalCommons.asia is a collaborative platform that brings together people, knowledge, and locally led solutions to strengthen life and livelihoods across Asia’s coasts. By connecting diverse coastal initiatives, the platform supports shared learning, climate resilience, inclusive economies, ecosystem restoration, and community-driven action at scale.

Who We Are

Building Resilient Coastal Communities

CoastalCommons Asia is a regional platform led by Practical Action that brings people and organisations together to build resilient coastal communities across Asia.

We work where climate change is having the greatest impact, through sea-level rise, cyclones, salinity, erosion, biodiversity loss, and threats to livelihoods. By connecting local knowledge, innovation, research, finance, and partnerships, we support practical, scalable, and locally led solutions.

CoastalCommons collaborates with communities, governments, researchers, businesses, development partners, financial institutions, youth, and civil society to protect coastal ecosystems, strengthen livelihoods, and create a more resilient and sustainable future.

Together, we are turning shared challenges into collective action for coastal resilience.
