CoastalCommons.Asia brings together communities, governments, researchers, innovators, businesses, and development partners to share knowledge, build partnerships, and promote practical solutions for the challenges facing Asia's coasts. The platform focuses on climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, resilient livelihoods, biodiversity conservation, and environmental stewardship.

At the same time, we have begun planting mangroves across 10 hectares under the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance with support from Uttaran. The initiative will also strengthen the Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR) approach that is already being promoted in the area. Healthy mangroves protect coastal communities from storms and tidal surges, support biodiversity, store carbon, and help secure local livelihoods.

While CoastalCommons.Asia creates a space for learning, innovation, and collaboration across the region, the mangrove afforestation initiative shows how these ideas can be put into practice. Together, they represent our belief that lasting coastal resilience grows through strong ecosystems, local leadership, and shared action.

We invite governments, civil society, researchers, businesses, development partners, and coastal communities to join CoastalCommons.Asia and become part of a growing regional movement to protect coastal lives, livelihoods, and ecosystems across Asia.
